Quantum Helicopters is located at the Chandler Municipal Airport,
18 miles southeast of Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport. Quantum
selected Chandler because it is ideally suited for a helicopter training
organization such as ours. The Chandler Airport has two parallel
runways, a public lighted heliport, and a separate helicopter training
pad. This enables us to provide ample training and practice areas
to our students. Flying in the Phoenix area also allows us to offer
a wide range of training applications, all within a short distance
of our base at Chandler. This greatly increases the efficiency of
each training program. Additionally, the following benefits, make
Chandler an optimal flight training facility:
- Most of our primary and advanced VFR training takes place
either at our practice areas or satellite
airports, which are within 5 to 10
minutes flight time.
- For high density
traffic and ATC training, the Phoenix
Class B Airspace (Sky Harbor Airport)
is within 10 minutes flight time.
- For mountain and density
altitude training, there are several
excellent mountain ranges within
10 to 25 minutes flight time which
provide elevations up to 4500 feet and density altitudes reaching
7000 to 8000 feet. Mountain Ranges in the 5000 to 7500 feet
range are within approximately one hour flight time.
- For IFR
training, the Phoenix area offers
a wide variety of instrument approach
procedures of different types and varied complexities,
allowing efficient and productive
instrument training.
All of the factors mentioned above
combine to assure a high level of efficiency
and cost effectiveness for each training
program.
