The Robinson Helicopter Company has an extensive network of factory authorized Dealers and Service Centers. Authorized Dealers are approved by the factory to offer and sell new Robinson Helicopters. In addition, each authorized dealer must be specifically approved to sell each of the Robinson Helicopter models (R22, R44, R66, and R88). A listing of the current factory authorized Dealers can be found on the Robinson Helicopter website or by contacting the Robinson Helicopter factory by phone at (310) 539-0508.

Quantum Helicopters is a fully authorized Robinson Helicopter Dealer and Service Center for all of the Robinson Helicopter models, including the R22, R44, R66, and R88. Quantum Helicopters has been in business for over 32 years and specializes in all things Robinson.

No, not at all. And when working with a reputable dealer, the process is very straightforward. Most consider it easier that purchasing a new car. Quantum Helicopters is happy to walk prospective buyers through the entire process and assist with any questions a buyer may have. In general, this outline describes the process of purchasing a new Robinson Helicopter:
  1. Work with your dealer to establish which Robinson Helicopter is right for you, and how you would like to equip your new helicopter.
  2. Complete the Robinson “Helicopter Purchase Agreement” with the help of your Dealer, and submit your Helicopter Purchase Agreement (HPA) to Robinson with the required deposit.
  3. When Robinson receives your HPA and deposit, they will assign to you a specific helicopter serial number (usually within one week), and provide an estimated completion date for your new helicopter.
  4. Approximately 2 months prior to your helicopter’s completion, depending on the model that you have ordered, Robinson will issue to your dealer a confirmation of how your helicopter is to be built, equipped, and painted. The dealer is responsible to assure that all of your specifications are in order and correct.
  5. 2 weeks prior to your helicopter’s completion, Robinson will issue a “Completion Notice” alerting your dealer as to the specific date that your new helicopter can be picked up and flown away from the Robinson factory in Torrance, CA. Robinson requires that your dealer arrange and facilitate your delivery from the factory to your final destination, however you are welcome to join the dealer in this delivery process if you would like to.
  6. Once the Completion Notice mentioned above has been received by your dealer, you will be required to pay the balance due for the purchase of your helicopter. Quantum Helicopters strongly suggest that this balance due be submitted directly to the Robinson Helicopter Company, and not to a dealer. This payment for the balance due should be received by Robinson at least 2 working days prior to your planned delivery date to avoid any delays in delivery. If you are using a bank or other entity for financing of your helicopter, your dealer will assist with any additional paperwork that may be necessary. Robinson will confirm receipt of the balance due with your dealer.
  7. Your dealer will make all final arrangements for delivery with Robinson, and your new helicopter will be picked up and flown away from the Robinson facility, and delivered to your destination.
  8. Your dealer will assist in filing whatever registration, insurance, financing, or other paperwork that may be required.
  9. You start enjoying your new Robinson Helicopter!

** The process described above assumes that a customer is ordering a new Robinson Helicopter “from scratch” from the Robinson factory. If a customer is purchasing a new helicopter that has already been completed and is in the dealer’s inventory, the process will be necessarily different.

The fees associated with buying a new helicopter are similar to purchasing a new car. We can explain each of these fees, how to make sure they are appropriately paid, and how to file any associated paperwork. These fees may include the following, depending on your particular situation:

  5. Special short term “delivery” insurance (required by Robinson for the delivery of the helicopter).
